Can I Show You Something?

Note to Myself:

Okay, this doesn't really mean anything. I mean, it's just what it is. No more. It doesn't like mean it's happening, or anything. Total long shot. Nothing be a dream, baby. Don't start playing golf or shopping for a sailboat, David. Really. Don't.

But... you may give in to short lived daydreams and flights on fancy. You may bookmark this page and return to it daily, just in case there's some new bit of information added to move it more toward reality...

Go HERE, to the hallowed pages of the Internet Move Database to see what I'm blathering about.

Holy crap, dude. I mean, we all knew it was going to happen, but if IMDB says it's true, then it's gotta be a good sign.

Do you get casting-suggestion rights? Should you start a poll?

Take care, and remember to breathe!

All it really means is that a powerhouse financial backer like Relativity Media has admitted that they've invested money in the early stages of making it happen - not just by paying me a bit but with bringing a screenwriter in and okaying Mike DeLuca and co to start making phonecalls, etc. Long way from a real film. Really long way. And yet...

Those guys do make movies!

Casting suggestion rights? Please! I'm the least important guy in this equation now. I'll be lucky if the characters I created actually end up in this hypothetical film.

I will certainly continue to breath, though. Thanks for the reminder.

Woo Hoo! Cautious advance congratulations!

I'm really looking forward to your next novel. Naming it "The Other Lands" was a stroke of genius because I'm dying to learn about those other lands.

Whoah! Here's to hoping--that would be sweet!

Thanks, Meghan. So does that mean I can tell Relativity you'd buy at least one full priced movie ticket? ;)

Sure, whatever gets the ball rolling on this baby!

Good, good, good. One ticket sold! Just millions more to go...

David,

That's awesome! Just means one more step closer to making it happen. Couldn't imagine that feeling, that closeness to have a story, a book, made into a movie. Just seeing your ideas come to life. Congrats.

Now you, Martin, Lynch, and Jordan all have stuff in the early stages of development. If even half of those ever get made I can die happy. Good luck David.

Awesome! I'm there! (Well, if it plays in Wyoming. I may have to make a special trip to the big city.) :)

Travis,

I agree that if even half of us get movies really made it'll be good news. Of course, I'm fairly partial which side of that half Acacia is on. It's not a glass half-full or half-empty sort of thing for me...

Constance,

If it comes to that, I'll send you an early dvd.

-David.

Outstanding. If I'm ugly enough will they give me a role you think?

Congrats. If you're lucky they won't make it and the deadline will pass and then you can sell the rights back to them again.

Just kidding. Nothing would be cooler than seeing this done right. Super Congrats!

That is massive cool! Looking forward optimistically for this! That has to be a great feeling for you.

Jax,

Ugly enough? Hmmm... Depends on just what role you're looking for. I'm thinking Aliver and Hanish and Dariel will all be fairly spiffy.

Ashe,

Thanks. It's great to hear that enthusiasm. That actually makes me more enthusiastic too. It's still a long, uphill battle that most likely won't come to anything, but one does need to smile and dream every now and then...

Yeah I was goin for the role of an Antok. But you know... that big, bird thing that Mena fights would be cool too.

How are they going to film the statue? Stunt Doubles?

I'm in for a ticket.

Assuming the future movie isn't directed by Uwe Boll.

Incubus Jax,

You like that statue, don't you?...

Dirk,

I think it's safe to say Mr. Boll will not be on the shortlist. Although, now that I've said that...
