Die Fernen Lande

Yeah, another cover! This one is from my wonderful German publisher, Blanvalet. It's for The Other Lands - Die Fernen Lande. Do you like?

Hey David, very nice indeed! :-) I like the tight focus of the UK cover more, I'll admit, but this is definitely gorgeous! Congrats! :-)

Hey Dave! Thanks.

I'm sticking with the original plan at this point. That's for me to have it in to my publisher in the fall, and for them to publish it in fall of 2011. A lot of things could mess with that, but that remains the plan at the moment.

I like that cover quite a bit...maybe not quite as much as their 1st book/2nd American cover but still very impressed. I do love seeing foreign edition covers partially for the great artwork but also for how the other cultures are trying to position the books.

Exactly. That's a big part of why it's always so interesting for me to get the covers also.

Very Cool. I really like how the blue of the water gives it a much different feel compared to the dark reds and yellow of my US paperback. Seeing different covers for a book you already love is always a neat and eye opening experience. Do you know if the artist who made this cover is from Germany? I like it when publishers get an artists from their own country to do it so it makes it that much more unique to that area. Thanks for letting us check it out.

I'm not sure about who the artist is. Good question. I'll have to find out. I'm thinking it may be the same person that did the German art for Acacia, but I'm not sure.
